Brand Hall News Items

As the 2017 British Eventing season gets underway we look forwards to welcoming everyone back to Brand Hall in June.

Once again the glorious grounds of the privately owned Brand Hall will play host to a range of National and International classes over 3 days of competition.

  • Charles Owen British Pony Championships CICBCP*
  • Rookery Park Stud CIC*
  • Racesafe National under 18 Championships CCIJ1*
  • Graham Heath Equestrian Structures Novice & Open Novice sections
  • Blue Chip BE90 sections on Sunday

The on-site stabling will be open on the Thursday morning to welcome competitors in the CCIJ* and National Pony Championships and any other competitors that wish to purchase a stable for the duration of the event. In addition local off-site stabling is available on a nightly basis. Please note that all horses/ponies requiring on-site stabling must be vaccinated to current FEI rules.

XC Course Designer Janet Plant and XC Course Builder James Plant have spent the winter period pondering the changes to the courses for this year. As usual we can expect some bold open riding fences with a number of trickier, thought provoking, questions worthy of the championship classes being run.

We look forwards to welcoming you all to Brand Hall in June!

We challenge our junior and pony competitors that are entered at Brand Hall to help Willberry and his family raise as much money as they can for completing a sponsored cross country ride around the Brand Hall cross country tracks. We want to see how many times we can get Willberry and his family around the track.

For a little extra excitement Wilberry The Wonder Pony charity are offering prizes for the top three pony and junior competitors that raise the most money for Willberry and his family, including an exclusive Willberry Wonder Pony T-shirt.

We are also aware that there are many other competitors entered at Brand Hall that would love the chance to carry one of the Berry family around the track, and in return for donations, any CIC*, Novice or BE90 competitor can carry one of the family around the track- donations to be made at secretaries.

All Junior and Pony competitor sponsorship is to be handed in at rider briefing or secretaries by the end of Thursday in an envelope with your details on.

We are delighted to have the opportunity at Brand Hall to help raise some money for Willberry Wonder Pony. We really hope that you will all join in and help to raise awareness of this inspirational charity and have a little fun.

The year is going so quickly, we are already working on our third event of the season which will be Brand Hall, following a very wet spring we had a successful Stafford Horse Trials in March and although a very damp build up to Weston Park in April the team pulled off a great event finishing in sunshine, what a relief when so many events were cancelled around us. Onwards and upwards now to Brand Hall the sun and wind is doing a tremendous job and the team is working extremely hard in preparation for Brand Hall.

Both Charles Owen and Racesafe return for their British Championship sections which are always hotly contested under the watchful eye of the selectors as these youngsters battle for a place on the team. Eventing stalwarts David and Catherine Witt support the CIC* an important section giving many new stars their first outing in an International arena lined with trade stands.

The course for these 3 International sections will follow mainly the same route as 2015 but the order flow and balance of the course will come from different combinations on this undulating park land. Education and confidence building is always high on the agenda for the courses at Brand Hall. As this will probably be the first time competitors have run the extra distance required for these International level sections fitness of both horse and rider will come into play.

This year we will have a Novice Regional Final on the Saturday Sponsored by a local company Graham Heath Equestrian Structures who specialise in producing premium quality steel frame buildings for equestrian use. Graham Heath Equestrian Structures will also sponsor all the Novice sections and this Sponsorship is a huge boost for Brand Hall we are delighted to receive this support.

The final day will see the Show jumping phase of the International sections with both Racesafe and Charles Owen sections will receive mounted prize giving. The cross country course on Sunday will be dominated by the Blue Chip BE90 sections. Any less experienced competitors will have time to watch and learn in this most wonderful park with its Georgian house as a back drop.

Entries are open. The Brand Hall team looks forward to welcoming competitors and supporters to the Event this June. Regular updates and more about the sponsors will continue on the web site.

Charles Owen National Pony Championships

The Charles Owen GB Pony Team selectors will be eyeing up potential Championship team representatives at Brand in this section as the count-down begins for year's FEI Pony Europeans at Mill Street in Ireland in July. Racesafe National U18 Championships

This is the first year that these Championships have been held at Brand Hall to offer the Racesafe Junior selectors a platform to view prospective combinations for the Racesafe Junior Team representing GB at the FEI Junior Europeans which this year will be held for the first time at Bishop Burton in Yorkshire in August.

Many former British Pony medal winners make up the U18 entry list including Yasmin Ingham who won both individual and team Pony European Gold last year, her team mate Charlotte Bacon plus GB squad member Pumba Goess-Saurau who represented Britain at Pony European level in 2013 and 2011 to name but a few.
